#UNEXPECTEDCANVAS WILL:

Increase intrigue and awareness of your project. Generate more tenant leads (7x increase reported). Create a more positive environment during construction. Encourage greater interaction with your business or project. Contribute to the well-being & image of our community.

CAN ANYONE CREATE AN #UNEXPECTEDCANVAS?

YES! While Makervillage will provide the service of project management, any person or organization is welcome to create their own installations adhering to the city guidelines and tag it #unexpectedcanvas.

WHO IS BEHIND THIS?

Makervillage is the economic gardening organization of Northwest Georgia, working to nurture creative and tech-based entrepreneurs. #UnexpectedCanvas is an initiative to encourage art while raising funds for ongoing programs which support artisan businesses.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Property owner pays Makervillage for installation and promotion. This payment is matched by the city or other organization to supply an artist stipend and materials. Your project will be scheduled with your availabilty and requirements. The goal of every installation is completion within one week of the start date. If you prefer to make a tax-deductible contribution, that can be arranged.

Artists must adhere to the Temporary Mural Policy and Guidelines.

Art is not what you see. It’s what you can make others see.
